10 hurt in attack on businessman in Ctg

CHATTOGRAM, Nov 15: At least 10 people were injured when miscreants attacked and opened fire on a businessman in Chattogram's Raozan upazila on Thursday night.

Sources said an armed group of 15-20 people attacked Kamal Uddin over a previous conflict at Palowan Para of Noapara.

Officer-in-Charge of Raozan Police Station Mir Mahbubur Rahman said the incident had taken place around 10:30pm.

"When local residents tried to intervene, the assailants began shooting indiscriminately, injuring at least 10 villagers. They received treatment in a local hospital and are out of danger now."

The attackers were from nearby areas, he added.
