FENI, Aug 15 (bdnews24.com): The Muhuri and Kohua rivers have inundated at least 10 villages in Feni's Phulgazi Upazila.
The Upazila's road links with Porshuram have been snapped.
Both the rivers were flowing more than 20 cms above the danger level Friday after heavy downpour.
The flooded rivers breached a 50-metre stretch of a dam and submerged the villages, affecting at least 10,000 families, Phulgazi Sadar Union Chairman Abul Hossain said.
Over 200 fisheries in the flooded area have been affected.
The full extent of the damage is yet to be ascertained.
It was also not clear whether relief has reached the affected localities.
Feni Water Development Board's Executive Engineer Ramjan Ali said the dam's repair work would start once the water recedes.
