MOULVIBAZAR, Oct 29 (UNB): Police charged batons on the farmers when they forcibly entered into the sale centre under Kulaura Upazila to collect Boro-seeds on Sunday, leaving at least 100 of them injured.
Sources said several thousand farmers of six upazilas of the district gathered in front of the sale centre in the morning to collect Boro-seeds for cultivation.
But due to delay in supplying the seeds the agitated farmers broke the lock of the gate of the centre and demanded seeds but failing to control the situation police repeatedly resorted to baton charge leaving at least 100 injured.
