SAVAR, June 21 (UNB): Eleven people, including three of a family, fell sick after eating jackfruit at the bank colony in pourasava area Wednesday night.
Local sources said poultry feed trader Iqbal Hossain bought three jackfruits for entertaining relatives who came to his bank colony house from Barisal.
Soon after eating jackfruit at night, 11 people felt intestinal pain and suffered loose motion.
Those who fell sick were identified as Iqbal's wife Aklima, his two sons - Siam and Ifaq, his father Fazlul Haque, mother Hosne Ara, Morsheda, Cynthia, Sharmin, Faisal, Rashida and Yasin.
Fazlul Haque, Hosne Ara, Morsheda, Cynthia, Sharmin, Faisal, Rashida and Yasin came from Barisal to visit Iqbal and his family.
