11 students fall sick with symptoms of mass hysteria

SYLHET, Feb 14 (UNB): Eleven students of a school fell sick with the symptoms of mass hysteria in Shibganj area of the city Wednesday.
Sources said Al Amin, a class I student of A G School, fell sick with abdominal pain and headache in the classroom.
After sometime two other students of the same class and eight students of class II and III also fell ill. The sick students were rushed to Sylhet Osmani Medical College Hospital.
Hospital sources said the students are safe now and they have been kept under intensive care.
Dr Abul Khair of Children unit of the hospital said, seeing the symptoms they have identified the disease as mass hysteria and they will recover soon.
