12 DU students get Dean's Award

A total of twelve meritorious students from different departments under the Faculty of Pharmacy of Dhaka University (DU) have been given 'Dean's Award' for their excellent academic results in 'B. Pharm. Professional Examinations' of 2018, 2019, 2020 and 2021.

DU Vice-Chancellor (VC) Prof Dr Md. Akhtaruzzaman distributed the awards among the students at a function, held on Tuesday at Nabab Nawab Ali Chowdhury Senate Bhaban of the university.

Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy Prof Dr Sitesh Chandra Bachar presided over the function while DU Pro-VC (Administration) Prof Dr Muhammad Samad, Pro-VC (Academic) Prof Dr A S M Maksud Kamal, Treasurer Prof Mamtaz Uddin Ahmed and Professor Emeritus Dr A K Azad Chowdhury addressed it as special guests. Chairman of the Department of Pharmacy Prof Dr Firoj Ahmed delivered the welcome speech.

VC Prof Dr Md. Akhtaruzzaman urged the students to play an effective role in promoting health care sector as well as pharmaceutical industry of the country. He stressed the need for strengthening cooperation between industry and academia for overall development of our socio-economic condition.

He emphasized on advanced level researches and technological innovations through proper utilization of scientific knowledge. The VC called upon all to make Bangladesh a developed country by using opportunities of fourth industrial revolution properly.
