120 candidates will vie for one RU seat

RAJSHAHI UNIVERSITY, Oct 03: On an average around 120 candidates will vie for one seat in the upcoming admission test of the Rajshahi Universality (RU) for the session of 2009-2010, department sources said.
The last date for submission of the admission forms was September 15.
A total of 4, 02,845 applications to 47 departments were submitted against 3,360 seats until the last date.
Official sources said that 82,115 forms were submitted for Science Faculty while 72,500 for Business Studies faculty, 1, 04381 for Social Science Faculty, 71,316 for Arts faculty, 20,800 for Law Faculty, 28,622 for Biological Science Faculty and 22,804 for Agricultural Faculty.
The highest 20,800 forms were submitted to Law and Justice Department while lowest 784 forms were submitted to the Fine Arts department.
A total of 375 students will vie for one seat at Pharmacy department for 40 seats while 290 students will compete against one seat at Mass Communication and Journalism department.
The admission tests will begin on October 12 and it will continue until October 25.
This year RU authority has earned taka 4 crore 2 lakh 84 thousand 500 through selling of first year honours admission forms where price of the each admission form was 100 taka.
