13 child labourers rescued from Dublarchar

BAGERHAT, Nov 24 (UNB): Some 13 children and adolescents, forced to do risky works, were rescued from Dublarchar here Friday night.
They are identified as Polash Ahmed, Farook Hossain, Shafiqul Islam, Inam Hossain, Rasel, Rafique, Ibrahim Hossain, Mohammad Alamgir, Nazrul Islam, Nayan, Yunus and M Rafique.
They hailed from Chittagong, Dhaka, Narayanganj, Chandpur, Comilla, Madaripur, Sunamganj and Kishoreganj districts.
UNO of Mongla Syed Mehedi Hasan told the news agency that on information a magistrate with the help of local people rescued the child labourers from the char adjacent to the Sundarbans where they were doing various risky works without any wage since long.
The child labourers were brought to Mongla Upazila Saturday to be handed over to their relatives.
