132nd IPU assembly kicks off at Hanoi

The 132nd assembly of Inter Parliamentary Union (IPU) kicked off Saturday at Hanoi, Vietnam, focusing on goals for sustainable development and global issues, reports BSS.
Deputy Speaker of the National Parliament M Fazle Rabbi Mian, Abul Kalam Azad, MP, and Yusuf Abdullah Harun attended the session titled 'Committee on Human Rights of Parliamentarians', said an official statement in Dhaka Saturday.
"The Grenade attack on the current Prime Minister and Awami League Chief Sheikh Hasina on August 21, 2004 was pre-planned ... but the then government diverted the case to another direction," quoted the statement as Fazle Rabbi Mian was saying replying to a question.
The assembly will continue till April 1.
