2 brothers killed over land dispute in Mymensingh

MYMENSINGH, Oct 10 (UNB): Two siblings were stabbed to death by their rival over a land-related dispute at Rajabaria village in Nandail upazila early Friday.
The victims were identified as Tofazzal Hossain (50) and his brother Swapan Mia (35), sons of Sharafat Ali of the village.
Saiful Islam, officer-in-charge (OC) of Nandail thana, said the two brothers had been at loggerheads with some local people over the possession of a land.
As a sequel to the hostility, a group of people from the rival party swooped on the house of Tofazzal and Swapan around 5:00 am and stabbed them indiscriminately, leaving Tofazzal dead on the spot and Swapan injured.
Swapan died on the way to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital.
Informed, police rushed in and sent the bodies to hospital morgue for autopsy. However, they could not arrest anyone as the attackers managed to flee the scene.
