FE Report | December 16, 2014 00:00:00

A mobile court fined Monday owners of two bakeries in Gazipur Tk 0.30 million for manufacturing, preserving and selling bakery items without BSTI (Bangladesh Standards and Testing Institution) licence and in unhealthy environment.

The two factories are Akota Bakery, located on bus stand bazar road of Joydebpur, and B-Baira Akota Bread and Biscuit Factory on Azizul Haque road at Joydebpur bus stand.

They were fined Tk 150,000 each.

The factories manufacture, preserve and sell bakery products -- loaf, biscuit and cake -- without certification of marks (CM) licence of BSTI and in an unhealthy and filthy environment, a news release of BSTI said.

The mobile court was jointly conducted by BSTI, district administration and police under the existing laws.
