2 held with 1.2 kg gold at HSIA

Customs intelligence officials arrested two people with 1.2 kilograms of gold at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport early Thursday, reports UNB.
The arrestees, identified as Abdul Motin (43) and Mohammad Abdul Aziz (44), hailed from different villages of Comilla district.
Sources at the airport said the duo landed at the airport from a flight (BG0087) of Biman Bangladesh Airlines from Kuala Lampur at about 5:27 am.
When they were going to the customs lounge of the airport, customs intelligence officials, following secret information, challenged them.
Later, the officials carried out a search on them and recovered the gold weighing 1.2 kg from their possession -- 898.2 gram from Matin and 303 grams from Aziz.
The market value of the seized gold was estimated at Tk 6.5 million.
