250 Eid congregations in Chittagong

CHITTAGONG, July 16 (BSS): Around 250 Eid congregations are scheduled to be held this year at the traditional and temporary venues in the city under the supervision of the Chittagong Central Eid Jamaat Committee (CCEJC) and the Chittagong City Corporation (CCC).

Local administration, CCC and CCEJC sources said preparations have been completed in the city under the auspices of the Chittagong district administration, Metropolitan Police, and other religious organisations for peaceful celebration of the festival with due solemnity and religious fervour.

Newly -elected city mayor AZM Nasir Uddin visited the preparatory work for Eid Jamaat at the MA Aziz Stadium at 12 noon today.

The CCEJC has finalised to hold a total of 93 Eid congregations at different venues in the city at a meeting recently held with Deputy Commissioner Mezbauddin in the chair at its conference room. According to decision, all the 93 Eid congregations under the CCEJC will be held at 8 am.

The main Eid congregation will be held at the MA Aziz stadium at 8am while Principal of the Baitus Sharaf Madrasha Moulana Saiyed Abu Noman will conduct the prayer.

The other main Eid Jamaats will also be held at different venues, including Andarkillah Shahi Jame Mosque, Laldighi Maidan, Parade Ground, Pologround Maidan, Shah Amanat Shah (Rh) Dargah Maidan, Port Colony Jam-e-Mosque and Metropolitan Police Line Maidan.
