2,76,587 posts remain vacant with govt offices, JS told

State Minister for Public Administration Ismat Ara Sadeq told Monday the Jatiya Sangsad (JS) that some 2,76,587 posts have remained vacant with different ministries, divisions and offices of the government, reports BSS.

"Of the total vacant posts, 44,542 are first class, 41,326 second class, 1,21,438 third class and 69,281 fourth class," she said while replying to a written question from treasury bench member Nurunnabi Chowdhury in the House.

The state minister said the recruitment of staff is an ongoing process and the Public Service Commission usually appoints the first class and second class officers against requirement of various ministries and departments.

Besides, different departments and divisions also recruit manpower following recruitment policy and process, Sadeq informed the House.
