3-day Hajj fair begins in Ctg

CHITTAGONG, Jan 22: Three-day Chittagong Hajj and Umrah Fair began today at the Jamiatul Falah mosque in the city. Hajj Agencies Association of Bangladesh (HAAB) Chittagong region has organised the fair.
Mayor of Chittagong City Corporation M Manjur Alam formally inaugurated the fair. The inaugural function was presided over by president of HAAB Chittagong regional council Abul Kashem.
Commissioner of Chittagong Metropolitan Police Abdul Jalil Mandol addressed the function as the special guest. This is the second time the HAAB regional council has organised the fair with a view to making the Hajj pilgrims familiar with the Hajj-related issues.
The city mayor said the hajis are the guests of Allah. Those who perform Hajj should not be harassed or cheated by any Hajj agency. Rather they should be extended wholehearted cooperation.
The Hajj fair of HAAB Chittagong region plays an important role in restoring trust among the Hajj pilgrims.
The fair will continue until January 24 and will remain open from 10:00 am to 10:00 pm everyday. State Minister for Land Saifuzzaman Chowdhury Zabed will attend the closing ceremony of the fair on Saturday evening as the chief guest.
