3 held with 17 gold bars at Ctg airport

CHITTAGONG, Sept 12 (BSS): Customs officials in separate drives detained three passengers with 17 gold bars from Chittagong Shah Amanat International Airport on Thursday night and Friday morning.
The detainees were identified as Habibullah of Fatikchhari upazila of the district, Golam Morshed of Raozan upazila of the district and Mohammad Sabuj of Comilla.
Assistant Commissioner (AC) of Chittagong Airport Customs, Moshiur Rahman Mondol said three gold bars weighing around 350 grams were recovered from Habibullah who came from Dubai by a Bangladesh Biman flight (BG-026) that landed on Friday morning.
Customs officials recovered the gold bars worth about TK 1.5 million. The gold bars were found in a vaseline pot after scanning his luggage, the AC added.
Besides, customs Intelligence officials arrested two people along with 14 gold bars weighing 1.7 kg at the airport Thursday night.
