3 human traffickers held, 2 young women rescued

JESSORE, July 28: The Kotwali police Sunday evening rescued two girls and arrested three suspected human traffickers in a drive at Tafshidanga on the outskirts of the town.
On a tip off the police raided the residence of one Saiful Islam at Tafshidanga and rescued Shilpi (20) of Lahuria under Lohagara Upazila in Narail and Rina (16) of Baraipara under Kaliganj Upazila in Lalmonirhat.
The police also arrested suspected human traffickers Champa of Lahuria under Lohagara Upazila in Narail, her husband Lokman Mollah and Dulal of Mandalpara in Magura district.
Police said the two young women were kept at the residence of Saiful for 18 days to traffic them to India in a suitable time. On suspicion, locals informed the police and then the raid was made.
