3 killed in city road crash, man stabbed to death

Three people were killed in a road accident at Kutubkhali in the city's Jatrabari area Thursday, reports UNB.
Two of the deceased were identified as Kamal Hossain (35), a garment stock lot trader and son of late Abdul Mannan of Char Laxmipur village in Muladi upazila of Barisal district, and Tarek Rahman (19), son of Fazaluddin, an Oman expatriate.
Officer-in-charge of Jatrabari police station Abani Kar said the accident took place around 10:30 am when a covered van of 'Karatoa Courier' hit a rickshaw van from behind at Chittagong road near Jatrabari Flyover, leaving three van passengers critically injured.
Meanwhile, a man was stabbed to death by miscreants at Dakhkhin Manda in the city's Mugda area early Thursday.
The deceased was identified as Shahidul Islam ( 50), a printing press worker and son of Akkas Ali, resident of the house no 537 at Dakhkhin Manda.
Quoting the victim's family members, Sub-inspector Nurul Islam of Mugda Police Station said Shahidul came under attack by a group of miscreants while he was returning home from his workplace around 2:45am.
Miscreants stabbed Shahidul near his residence indiscriminately, leaving him critically injured.
