Detective Branch (DB) police arrested two youths along with 300 bottles of Indian Phensidyl syrup from near Jagorani Club near Dinajpur town Friday night, reports UNB.
Sources said, the DB police challenged the two youths while they were moving suspiciously in the area at about 11pm. Later, following their confessional statement police recovered the contraband item.
The arrested Roni (27) and Ahmed Hossain (25) were handed over to Kotwali police. A case was filed against them under the Narcotics Control Act.
On the other hand, RAB and BDR personnel in their separate drives arrested two people along with Phensidyl syrup, Indian watch battery and cumin seed from Sadar Upazila under Chapainawabganj Friday.
A team of RAB arrested Monirul along with 40 bottles of Phensidyl syrup from Bagchar village Friday at about 9pm.
In another drive a patrol team of BDR arrested Mujibur Rahman, son of Rashiduddin, of Hakimpur village along with 49-kg Indian cumin seed and 8,200 pieces of battery.
Two separate cases were filed with the police.
