30 DU students get Mitsubishi UFJ scholarship

Mitsubishi UFJ Foundation of Japan Monday awarded scholarships to 30 meritorious students of Dhaka University (DU) for their outstanding academic results.
Foundation Chairman Shigemitsu Miki distributed the scholarships among the students at a function held at Senate Bhaban of the university. DU Vice-chancellor Prof Dr AAMS Arefin Siddique presided over the function while Japanese ambassador in Dhaka Shiro Sadoshima addressed the event as the chief guest.
Among others, Managing Director of the Foundation Yoshiaki Ozawa, DU Treasurer Prof Dr Md Kamal Uddin, acting Director of DU Planning Division Jiban Kumar Mishra spoke at the programme.
Prof Siddique praised the Japanese people for their support and cooperation to the Bangladeshi people during the Liberation War.
Japanese ambassador Mr Sadoshima urged the scholarship recipients to work together to establish a developed and peaceful Bangladesh.
