30 gold bars seized at Ctg airport

Cittagong, Mar 20 (UNB): Customs officials seized 30 gold bars from the possession of two cleaners at Shah Amanat International Airport here Thursday.
Moshiur Rahman Mandal, Assistant Commissioner of Chittagong Airport Customs Authority, said being tipped-off, customs officials detained two cleaners-Sukhlal Das (33) and Jibon Kumar Das (30)--while they were coming back from an aircraft of Biman Bangladesh Airlines after cleaning it at around 11:00am.
Later, they recovered the gold bars worth Tk 16.50 million after searching them .Meanwhile, the customs officials Wednesday evening recovered four gold bars weighting around 476 grams from the luggage of two passengers-Hasina Akhtar and Khorshed Alam-while coming in flight of Fly Dubai from Dubai.
