The third death anniversary of war hero, Sector Commander Lt Col. (retd) Quazi Nooruzzaman, Bir Uttam, will be observed today (Tuesday). He passed away on this day at the age of 86, reports UNB.
As the chairman of the Muktijoddha Sangsad in the early 1980s he had demanded the banning of the Jamaat-e-Islami and the trial of war criminals.
He was one of the primary founders and organisers of the Ekattorer Ghatak Dalal Nirmul Committee and was one of the 24 accused by the state for holding the Gono Adalat (people's court) to try the war criminals and collaborators.
