MYMENSINGH, Aug 3 (UNB): Four people, including a man and his grandson, were killed and two others injured in two road accidents in Bhaluka and Nandail upazilas on Sunday.
Two women-Saleha, 28, and Lota Begum, 45, of Shariatpur district-were killed as a bus hit them on Dhaka-Mymensingh highway in Master Bari area of Bhaluka in the morning.
Officer-in-charge of Bhaluka Model thana Abul Kalam Azad said the Dhaka-bound bus knocked the two women down while they were crossing the road around 7am, leaving them dead on the spot.
In Nandail upazila, a man and his grandson were killed and two near ones injured as a bus crashed into their motorcycle on Mymensingh-Kishoreganj highway in the morning.
The deceased were identified as Abu Siddique, 55, and his grandson Abu Raihan, 5, of Darila village in the upazila.
Police and witnesses said the speedy bus hit the motorbike while Siddique along with his daughter-in-law (son's wife) and her two children in Kanarampur area around 11:30am, leaving Siddique and Raihan dead on the spot and two others injured.
Officer-in-charge of Nandail thana Saiful Islam said they seized the bus and arrested its driver.
