4 fake DB men, 3 robbers held

Detective Branch (DB) of police in an overnight raid arrested seven people, including four fake DB men, from Jatrabari and Khilgaon areas in the city, reports BSS.

Acting on a tip-off, a team of DB police led by Assistant Commissioner (AC) of police Mahmud Naser, arrested four fake DB men near 'Mother and Child Medical Institute' at Matuail under Jatrabari thana.

The detainees are: Md Jakir Hossain alias Sumon (27), Md Abubakar Siddique alias Joni (280, Mohammad Alamin (32) and Md Iqbal Hossain (25).

Police also recovered one microbus, a private car, handcuffs and sharp weapons from their possession.

Police said they were accused in several criminal cases lodged with Jatrabari, Banani, Shahali and Kafrul thanas of Dhaka Metropolitan Police.

Meanwhile, the DB police nabbed three alleged dacoits, while they were trying to commit a robbery at Nandipara (Faruk Saw Mill area) under Khilgaon thana Monday night, said a press release.

The arrestees were identified as Md Anisuzzaman alias Jony (30), Mohammad Nuruzzaman alias Nuru (32) and Md Sumon Bhuiyan (30).
