RAJSHAHI, Jan 24 (BSS): Four examinees appearing for the admission test in Rajshahi University Friday were caught on charge of cheating with the help of electronic devices and mobile phones.

Admission tests for the 2013-14 session, which were postponed five times due to repeated shutdowns and blockades enforced by the BNP and its allies, began Thursday.

Two tests were held on Friday, of which the 'E' unit (social science faculty) test was held in the morning and 'D' unit (commerce faculty) exam in the afternoon.

Toriqul Islam, Asadur Rahman Bappy and Iftiaz Ahmed were detained in 'E' unit exam halls and Baizit Hossain was held from 'D' unit exam hall.

Prof Tariqul Hassan Milon, Proctor of RU, said Toriqul was held with an electronic gadget. Bappy and Iftiaz, too, were held around the same time. They were filling the answer scripts by using wristwatches that contained mobile phones and Bluetooth devices, he said.

They managed to hide them under their warm clothes while entering into the examination halls, the Proctor said. Baizit was held while soliciting answers through mobile phone SMS.

The proctor said the detained examinees were part of a racket and the police were looking for the other members of the gang.
