4 killed in Gazipur road crash

GAZIPUR, Apr 15 (UNB): At least four people, including a woman, were killed and five others injured in a head-on collision between a truck and a human-hauler on Dhaka-Tangail Highway in Kaliakair Upazila Tuesday morning.

Three of the deceased were identified as Hakim, Sobhan and Khadiza Akhter.

Police and witnesses said the moving bus collided with the Kaliakair-bound human-hauler (Laguna) at Chandra at around 6:30am, leaving a human-hauler passenger dead on the spot and eight others injured critically.

The injured were taken to Kaliakair Upazila Health Complex where doctors pronounced three others-Hakim, Sobhan and Khadiza-dead.

Police seized the truck but its driver managed to flee the scene.
