4 killed in road accident

COMILLA, Jan 6: Four women pedestrians were killed and four others critically injured in a road accident in Punnomoti Noapara village under Burichong upazila of the district on Monday night. Police said the accident took place when an empty truck hit a group of eight women, who were returning home from nearby village after attending a waz mahfil, killing one on the spot and injuring seven others.

Of the injured, three women died on the way to Comilla Medical College and Hospital, Officer-in-Charge of Burichong police station Mohammad Jahirul Islam said. The four others injured were admitted to the CMCH.-BSS
