4 killed in separate accidents in Ctg

CHITTAGONG, Aug 19 (BSS): Four persons, including a child, were killed in separate accidents in the city and district Tuesday.

The victims were Bijoy Shoutal (35), a tea garden worker of Karnaphuli Tea Garden, Mohammad Amir Hossain (40), a worker of Aramit Group, Pitul Gazi (35), a quarter Master of a lighterage ship, and Rabiul Alam Sakib (7), son of farmer Nurul Alam.

Bijoy received serious injury after being crushed under the wheels of a tea laden trailer at Karnaphuli tea garden under Fatikchari upazila at 11:00 am.

He was sent to the Chittagong Medical College Hospital (CMCH) where the attending doctors declared him dead.

Amir Hossain also received head injury after being knocked by a roller of a tin factory of Aramit Group in Khalurghat heavy industrial area at 9:00 am. He was taken to CMCH where he succumbed to his injury.

Quarter Master Pitul Gazi received also head injury while turning the ship at outer anchorage at 2.00 Tuesday night. He was sent to CMCH, but the attending doctors declared him dead.
