4 killed in Sirajganj road crash

At least four people were killed in a head-on collision between a CNG-run auto-rickshaw and a lorry at Murshipur on Bogra-Nagarbari highway in Shahjadpur upazila in Sirajganj district on Thursday. Three of the deceased were identified as Selim, 30, son of Saidul Islam of Kadaibabla village, Hasan, 10, son of Abdul Karim of Harirampur village in Shahjadpur upazila, and three-wheeler driver Shamsul, 40, son of Yusuf Ali of Brahmakapalia village of Ullahpara upazila. Hasan Shamim Iqbal, officer-in-charge of Shahjadpur Police Station, the Shahjadpur-bound auto-rickshaw collided with the clinker-laden lorry of ‘Aman Cement’ in the area around 4pm, leaving Selim, Shamsul and another unidentified man dead on the spot and two other passengers injured. The injured were rushed to Ullahpara 50-bedded hospital where Hasan succumbed to his injuries, according to UNB.
