SYLHET, July 15 (UNB): Police recovered 400 bottles of Indian Phensidyl syrup from a jungle at Maricha area of Jakiganj Upazila early Thursday.
Police said on secret information they searched the jungle in the area at about 3:00 am and recovered the contraband item kept by a gang of local smugglers in five sacks. But they could not arrest any one in this connection. In another drive, BDR jawans seized 10 Indian cattle worth about Tk 0.4 million from Dana frontier area of the same upazila Thursday morning. They said sensing their presence in the area the smugglers went into hiding leaving behind the cattle. Later, the cattle were deposited with the local customs office.
