Communications Minister Obaidul Quader Saturday said revolutionary changes will be visible in the development of communication infrastructure of the Chittagong hill tracts (CHT) area in the next two years, reports BSS.
"Four thousand km long ring-road will be built in the border areas with neighbouring India and Myanmar alongside the tourism-based special economic zone by increasing connectivity with the neighboring countries," the minister said.
Obaidul Quader came up with the observation while inaugurating a project to build four roads and bridges at a cost of Tk 2.82 billion by engineering corps of Bangladesh Army in Sajek valley of Khagrachari.
Kujendra Lal Tripura, MP, Major General Md Abdul Kadir, Major General Sabbir Ahmed, Brigadier General Quazi Samsul Islam were present on the occasion, among others.
