The 41st death anniversary of Bengali Language Movement veteran and freedom fighter Barrister Syed Kamrul Islam Mohammed Salehuddin will be observed today (Friday), says a statement.
Barrister Salehuddin was born in Kashiani upazila of Gopalgonj district.
In 1963, he went to the United Kingdom to study Bar-at-Law.
He was one of the frontline organisers of the Liberation War of 1971, and also a renowned parliamentarian who later founded Bangladesh Justice Party (BAJAPA).
He took his last breath in Dhaka on May 24, 1983 and was laid to eternal rest at Banani graveyard in the capital.
