48 businesses fined for violating consumer rights

The Directorate of National Consumer Rights Protection (DNCRP) collected Tk0.7 million in fine from 48 business entities during separate drives across the country on Sunday.

Several mobile teams of the DNCRP led by its 25 officials carried out the drives against the business entities at 30 markets in the capital and 20 districts under the Consumer Rights Protection Act, 2009. In the capital, the DNCRP team carried out drives at Mohammapur Krishi Market, Mohakhali, Khilgaon and Banasree markets.
