4th anniversary of Nimtoli fire tragedy today

The fourth anniversary of Nimtoli fire tragedy will be observed today (Tuesday) through various programmes, reports BSS.

The programmes include Doa, Milad Mahfil and special prayers in mosques and temples, placing wreaths at the memorial for the fire victims and holding condolence meetings.

On this day in 2010, at least 121 people, mostly women and children, were killed and many others injured in the Nimtoli fire in the old part of the city.

According to the fire service, 93 people died while nine people were injured during the devastating fire that occurred through a transmitter blast.
