5 arms traders held at Ashulia

After a brief gunfight, police arrested on Friday five suspected arms traders along with three illegal firearms and ammunition from Ahulia, on the outskirts of the capital, reports BSS.
The arrestees are: Abul, 45, Jasim, 46, Jahangir, 28, Ratan, 39, and Nuru, 45.
Acting on secret information of arms trading, Dhaka district Detective Branch (DB) of police and Savar circle police raided Adarshagram at Aupara under Ashulia thana 11.30am, said assistant police super of Savar circle Mohammad Rasel Sheikh told.
The criminals fired one round of bullet at the policemen and in retaliation they fired five rounds of bullet and at one stage they managed to arrest five of the criminals, he said.
Three foreign made pistols, six magazines, six rounds of bullet were recovered from their possession, he added.
