Five journalists received the Mass-line Media Centre (MMC) and Orbis Interna-tional award for their features. They are: Nimul Haq, Shahnaz Begum, Prabir Kumar Biswas, Sebika Debnath and Farhana Khanam Mithila.
MMC and Orbis jointly organised the award-giving ceremony and an orientation programme on avoidable childhood blindness at the Daily Star Bhaban in the capital on Wednesday.
Boishakhi TV editor-in-chief Monjurul Ahsan Bulbul was present at the programme as the chief guest. MMC executive director Kamrul Hasan Manju presided over it.
Orbis country director Dr. Munir Ahmed and director of programmes Mohammed Alauddin were present as the special guests.
Local Governance Journa-lism Development (Logoj) president Sikandar Fayez delivered the welcome speech on the occasion.
