5 killed in Bhola road accident

BHOLA:  At least five people were killed and 20 others injured in a road accident at Janata Bazar in Charfasson upazila Tuesday evening.

The deceased were identified as Habib Miah, 65, Amir Hossain Mistri, 35, Kanchan Miah, 45, Hadis, 70, and Saiful Islam. They hailed from the Janata Bazar area.

Witnesses said the accident took place when a Charfasson-bound speedy bus from Bhola ploughed through the pedestrians at the bazaar around 8pm after its driver lost control over the steering, leaving the five killed on the spot, according to a news agency.

Agitated locals torched the bus after the incident and blocked the road.
