55,000 pry students to get scholarship this year

Some 55,000 students will receive scholarship in two categories this year in order of highest marks obtained in the Primary Terminal Examination. “Some 55,000 students will be awarded scholarship in two categories on the basis of their merit in the Primary Terminal Examination 2013,” Director (Admin) of the Directorate of Primary Education Mahbubun Nahar told UNB on Thursday. Of them, 22,000 will get scholarship in the talent pool and the rest 33,000 in general quota, she said, adding that each recipient in talent pool will receive Tk 200 per month for a year while a scholarship holder in general quota Tk 150. Primary and Mass Education Ministry sources said the list of the students will be published on February 16. The results of the Primary and Ebtedayee terminal examinations-2013 were published on December 30 last year with 98.58 and 95.80 per cent pass rates respectively, according to a news agency.
