6 kidnappers held in city

Detective Branch (DB) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) arrested six members of an organised kidnapping gang from the city's Mirpur area Tuesday, reports UNB.

The detectives recovered one wireless set, one handcuff, and one digital camera from their possession.

The arrestees are Md Abu Taleb (68), Md Azahar Uddin Khan (42), Mustafa (40), Md Shamim Sikder (25), Dola Akhter (20), and Dola's aunty Salma Begum (45).

Acting on a tip-off, a special team of DB police led by AC Rahmatullah Chowdhury conducted a drive in a house at Pikepara under Mirpur Thana at about 4:30pm and arrested the gang members.
