6 killed in accidents in 2 days

Six persons were killed and nine injured in separate road mishaps in different districts Thursday and Friday, reports BSS.
In Chittagong, two persons were killed and another three received injuries when a pickup van rammed into an autorickshaw in Srimai Bridge area on Cox's Bazar road under Patiya Upazila of the district Friday.
The diseased were identified as Tayeb Ali (46) and Munshi Mia (42), hailed from Uttar Joara village of Chandnaish Upazila.
The injured were identified as Muhammad Sohel (25), Sirajul Islam (33) and Ramjan Ali (24), hailed from different areas under Patiya Upazila.
The injured were brought to Chittagong Medical College Hospital and they are now out of danger.
In Rajshahi, two persons including driver were killed and another sustained injury when a Prothom Alo carrying pickup van turned turtle and hit a truck from behind.
The van met with the accident when its driver lost control over the steering in Sabdipur area on Rajshahi-Chapainawabganj highway under Godagari Upazila of the district Friday.
The deceased were identified as driver Shahidul Islam (35), and paper lineman Farhad Hossain (30), both of Sirajgonj. Another injured Jafar Iqbal was undergoing treatment at Godagari 31-bed hospital.
Mukaddem Ali, officer-in-charge (OC) of Godagari thana, said the newspaper-laden van was heading towards Chapainawabgonj from Bogra and fell pray to the accident at around 5:30 am.
Driver Shahidul Islam died on the spot while lineman Farhad Hossain succumbed to his injuries at Godagari Hospital.
In Gazipur, two persons were killed and five others injured when a truck rammed into a human hauler (Tempo) on the Dhaka-Tangail highway under Kaliakoir Upazila Friday.
The deceased were identified as Joynal Abedin (55) and Wahid (40).
Witnesses said the accident took place in Kharajora area of the Upazila at about 8:00 am when a truck hit a Chandra-bound tempo from behind, leaving seven people injured.
Of the injured, Joynal and Wahid died on way to Kaliakoir Upazila Health Complex.
