66 drug peddlers held with 120, 400 Yaba pills

Police in a special drive arrested 66 drug peddlers and seized 120,400 pieces of Yaba tablets and some other drugs from different parts of the capital city until 6:00 am on Monday, report agencies.

As part of the drive, Detective Branch (DB) and Thana police raided Jatrabari, Ramna, Lalbagh, Motijheel, Wari, Mirpur, Gulshan and Uttara and arrested the drug peddlers, a DB official said.

They also seized 120,400 pieces of Yaba tablets, 104 bottles phensidyls, 371 gram heroin, 26 pieces of injection and 84 cans of beer from their possession, he also said.

Meanwhile, Detective Branch (DB) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police in a drive arrested three alleged drug peddlers along with 0.117 million pieces of Yaba tablets from Jatrabari area in the city on Sunday.

The arrestees are Md Yamin, his close associate Md Sohagh Sheikh and driver Md Tosar Ahmed.
