The 6th Social Business Day will be organised in Dhaka on May 28 next in a bid to meet, connect, discuss and collaborate with the global social business community with the purpose of developing effective solutions to society's most pressing problems including unemployment.
Yunus Centre will host the event at the Bangabandhu International Conference Centre (BICC) at Agargaon in the city from 9:00 am on the day under the theme 'We Are Not Job-Seekers; We Are Job-Givers - Turning Unemployment into Entrepreneurship', according to its statement issued on Thursday.
As in previous years, Nobel Laureate Prof Muhammad Yunus will be the host of the event which will also be attended by more than 1,500 participants including over 250 from 25 countries, it said.
Speakers this year include Prof Sharifah Hapsah Shahabudin, Senior Consultant, Prime Minister's Department, Government of Malaysia, Andrea Jung, President and CEO of Grameen America, Alex Counts, President of Grameen Foundation, Ms Saskia Bruysten, CEO, Co-founder of Yunus Social Business, Peter Hunt, Chairman of Green Hill Foundation, Australia, Mr Syed Mokhtar Al-Bukhary, Founder of Albukhary Foundation, Mr Xu Yonguang, Chairman of Narada Foundation and China Foundation Centre, among many others.
