7.87m students getting govt stipend

The government is providing stipend to 78,70,129 students across the country aimed at increasing enrolment of students in the school, reports BSS.
Primary and Mass Edu-cation Minister Mostafizur Rahman told this in the Jatiya Sangsad, while replying to a question from treasury bench member M Sohrab Uddin on Monday.
“The government has decided to provide stipend to all students across the country except city corporation and municipality areas. The ministry has already sent a Development Project Proposal (DPP) for the stipend project (Third Phase) to the planning commission for approval." The minister said that the government has brought government primary schools, independent ebtedayee madrasas and schools run by Shishu Kallyan Trust in 93 upazilas under the school feeding programme.
