JHENIDAH, Aug 22 (UNB): Some 89,860 hectares of land will be brought under Transplanted Aman cultivation in six upazilas of the district in the current season with an output target of 2.49 tonnes of rice.
Department of Agricultural Extension sources said, of the total land, 22,795 hectares will be cultivated in sadar, 18,680 hectares in Kaligaon, 5,310 hectares in Kotchandpur, 20,360 hectares in Moheshpur, 15,135 hectares in Shailakupa and 7,580 hectares in Harinakunda upazila.
Meanwhile, cultivation on 73,000 hectares has been completed, DAE sources said.
