9 BR officials transferred

CHITTAGONG, June 8: Nine senior officials of the Bangladesh Railway (BR) East general manager have been transferred in the aftermath of repeated train accidents, illegal grabbing of lands and cutting of century-old trees from the railway lands.

The order to this effect came to the Railway (East) head office in the CRB building on Thursday lat from the Rail Bhaban, official sources said today.

GM (east) Moqbul Ahmed has been made GM (project) and GM (project) Mozammel Huq made GM (east).

Chief Engineer AKM Mahbubbul Huq, chief engineer (mechanical) Abdul Matin, chief operating superintendent Mihir Kanti Guha are others among the transferred officials.
