90,519 pry teachers getting salary from government

The government has nationalised 25,274 primary schools across the country and 90,519 teachers are getting salary and other allowances from the public exchequer, reports BSS.

Primary and Mass Educa-tion Minister Mostafizur Rahman told this in the Jatiya Sangsad Wednesday while replying to a question from treasury bench member M Israfil Alam.

He informed the House that 90,519 primary school teachers from 22,925 schools out of 25,274 nationalised schools are getting salary and allowances regularly.

The education ministry has also sent a proposal to create posts for teachers at 2,317 primary schools and the proposal is now waiting at the Public Administration istry for approval.
