AB Bank accords reception to Prof Anisuzzaman

Professor Emeritus Dr Anisuzzaman was accorded a reception by AB Bank Limited at a city hotel on Monday evening for getting Padma Bhusan, the third highest civilian award of India.

Finance Minister AMA Muhith as the chief guest and novelist Selina Hossain as the special guest were present at the reception ceremony. AB Bank Chairman M Wahidul Haque presided over the programme.

Among others, managing director of AB Bank Shamim Ahmed Choaudhury, executive director, Chnadraboti Academy, the co-host of reception programme, Kamruzzaman Kajol were also present at the programme.

AMA Muhith said Anisuzzaman is country's symbol of secular and progressive force. He is a lighthouse to Bangladeshis who uphold the values of the Liberation War.

"I became involved with different kinds of works and have come across a range of diverse people. I could not stick to a single thing, but I am satisfied with what I have accomplished," said Prof Anisuzzaman.

The noted academician was awarded the third highest civilian award of the Indian government on January 25 this year for his contribution to literature and education.
