KHULNA, Nov 15 (UNB): A kidnapping case accused allegedly committed suicide by jumping off the police super's office here on Saturday afternoon.
The deceased was identified as Tushar Kanti Paul, 38. Police arrested him from the city's Boyra area on Friday in connection with the kidnapping of a young girl for ransom in Dumuria upazila.
Police officials said Tushar was taken to the police super's office on Saturday noon for quizzing.
After the interrogation, Tushar was being taken to the court around 4pm when he suddenly jumped from the 1st floor of the SP office, leaving him critically injured.
He was taken to Khulna Medical College Hospital where he succumbed after some time.
SP M Habibur Rahman confirmed the incident.
