Abduction or self-disappearance?

A knitting factory worker was recovered in the early hours of Tuesday from Mawna in Gazipur district after three days of his disappearance, police said.

A sub-inspector of Joydebpur Police Station said they finally recovered Mehedi Hasan, who works in the cutting section of Multifabs Limited, a knitwear group, at about 1:00am (Tuesday) by tracking his mobile phone from Mawna area.

"We'll produce him before the court today (Wednesday) with a remand prayer for questioning him to know whether it was an event of abduction or self-disappearance," he added.

When contacted, Chairman of Multifabs Limited Mahiuddin Faruqui said the worker went missing since Saturday last after finishing his work.

Mr. Faruqui, also a vice president of Bangladesh Knitwear Manufacturers and Exporters Association, said they had filed a general diary with the police station after several attempts to trace the worker went in vain.
