The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has estimated an expenditure of Tk 635.9 million for the next fiscal year (FY) 2015-16 under the Medium-Term Budgetary Framework (MTBF).
Besides, the commission has made projections of its expenses to the tune of Tk 686.8 million and Tk 741.8 million for FYs 2016-17 and 2017-18 respectively, according to the ACC data.
The budget management committee of the anti-graft watchdog has already sent the proposal for expenditure and projections to the ministry of finance (MoF).
The government has allocated Tk 590 million for the current FY 2014-15, an ACC source said.
Corruption in the country is widespread and the rule of law has not been established yet as most of the institutions lack transparency and integrity, a source at the ACC said.
As the ACC is taking various steps to combat corruption, its expenditure is swelling each year, he said, adding that the country made improvement in the fight against corruption in the last decade.
